This Braai is 1.2 metres wide and is in mild steel with a matt black heat resistant paint.
It comes with two grilling options, one long grill (as shown) or two small grills either side of the ember maker (for smaller catering circumstances). 4 different height grill options.
A Potjie hook allows cooking using a hanging Potjie (Dutch oven/camp stove).
Fold-down door for work surface. Fully secured closing doors for smoking and bread making.
The ember maker (open fronted box to the right of the grill) acts as a charcoal maker and easy fire- starter and is essential to the purpose of the Braai.
Once the cooking is done the best thing to do is remove the grill and ember maker and you’ve got yourself a great, warm firepit to chill around with a few beers or a glass of wine. Just throw as many logs on as you wish and watch the flames lick up!
If you prefer the rustic, charcoal look of the Braai, then you can choose to leave it exposed (shown). It becomes a focal point to the space and a showpiece to cook and entertain.
Cladding your Braai in Stone gives it a North American, country feel. Whichever option you choose to finish your Braai, think of how it will sit in the outdoor space in relation to the building, the garden and the further environment.
The stone also offers great protection to your Braai over the Winter months if you live in a colder climate.
The simplest way to install your Braai is to build it up with breeze-blocks, concrete blocks or bricks and then render the surface and paint. This gives a wonderfully Mediterranean style to the Braai and the whole outdoor space as well (especially wen painted white/off-white).
