Del Mar Series White Race

Inspiration
The Inspiration for this deco series was wonderful world of sailing yachts. Whole series is inspired by the way how yacht are design, made. Finally the inspiration was their beauty, their shape, wonderful finishing and durability of every single feature used on the board. If we mix that with beautiful, harsh ocean scenery with wonderful nautic colors of this element , we can expect outstanding deco effect. The main thought leading this project was to bring to the interior a part of real sailing yacht with a flavour of this special sailing adventure.

Used materials
The base for this series are beautiful sailing yacht pictures taken from sailor perspective to bring us on board with one look. The idea is to link every single component used in the picture with real components used on real yacht. Lacquered high glossy wooden frame with painted hull. Photo printed on a flexible material with a real sail billowing in the wind. Fixing the sailing ropes with a real fastening of the sail on the yacht. Real acid resistant steel features like shekels and eye screws used to build real boats. All those elements together bring unusual impression of art piece solid and beautiful at the same time . Additionally the very true nautical style has been achieved.

Production process
Del Mar is made with the highest attention to the details. Overall impression caused by the picture bring us to the sailing yacht world accurately. To gain this effect we engaged real wood carpenter specialist who usually produces wooden hand made furniture. The frame is cut at the edges to gain the impression of the streamline effect noticeable in yachts. Ash frame was covered with undercoat paint and sanded several times to gain the most possible smoothness. Real ash was used as a material to keep its wooden stiffness from the one side and to avoid any distortions in the future. Painting process had place in the real car paint shop made the same way and lacquer the same technique as cars are. Finally photo printing is done on blackout material used to print big format commercial banners with high resistance on water and sun with perfect color image at the same time.

Nautical style
Del Mar is a series is truly made in nautical style. This special care about details and used materials lifts this deco painting on the higher level which is completely bereft of mawkish impression we can usually meet in the interiors decorated in this style. In this place it brings genuineness of this style with it's mix of respect and beauty.
