The roof is a fundamental structure of any building, as it is what guarantees protection against elements and comfort to the users. Roof types vary in shape, style, construction, and materials. One of the most common and widely used forms of roofing is the four-panel structure. It is composed of four inclined planes.

Plans that cover the sides and leans on the walls are called master water, generally recognized by their trapezoidal shape. On the other hand, the planes that include the front and back sides while leaning on the same walls are called tacanicas. They are known for their triangular shape.

In this article, we present 11 incredible residences with four-panel roofs, of different configurations, shapes, and styles. However, they stand out for the harmony of the architectural set and the aesthetics of the four-paneled roof. Although it is a traditional typology, still combines with any building style.

The eaves serve to protect the outer walls from the rainwater along with the windows and doors of the solar rays.

The slope, of the structure, is determined by the type of roof. The inclination of the roof varies according to the kind of tile used. It is because they are usually attached to the ceiling using fittings. With a higher tilt, the ridge and the gap between cover and liner also extends. Roofs with a steep slope make it possible to use this area as a useful space.

4. With traditional roof

Sloping roofs are also an excellent alternative for those who care about sustainability and production of solar energy. Here, the slope of the roof is determined by the angle of inclination of the sun. Also, the solar panels are installed directly on the roof. They provide a more modern touch to the building.

5. Modern house

It is foolish to think that a four-panel roof does not match the modern style. As we see in this project, it is entirely possible to combine straight strokes and flat shapes with a coverage of inclined planes. The roof of this house not only stands out for its traditional form but also for the covering of plates of zinc which are painted black.
